Shell Malaysia has entered into a long-term agreement with a local company, Orkim Sdn Bhd to charter two shipping vessels for the distribution of petroleum products.

The two vessels will play a crucial role in transporting oil products for Shell Malaysia's Downstream fuels business across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia. Equipped with enhanced features for safety, efficiency, and environmental protection, these new builds address the growing requirements and compliance needs.

The agreement was signed between Shairan Huzani Husain, Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd, and Capt Cheah Sin Bi, CEO of Orkim Sdn Bhd.

"This collaboration marks a major milestone in our commitment to support Malaysian stakeholders, through a long-term strategy aimed at enhancing and building capabilities within the local energy sector," said Shairan Huzani Husain, Managing Director, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd. "We are excited to work with Orkim Sdn Bhd and believe this collaboration will encourage greater involvement from local industry players and foster new initiatives to further
develop local capabilities."

Shell Malaysia and Orkim Sdn Bhd have a longstanding relationship in the carriage and distribution of petroleum products across Malaysia and Singapore.
