Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Michael Hogan, the Independent Director of American Coastal Insurance Corporation (NASDAQ:ACIC) recently shelled out US$91k to buy stock, at US$11.37 per share. However, it only increased their shares held by 2.3%, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At American Coastal Insurance
Notably, that recent purchase by Michael Hogan is the biggest insider purchase of American Coastal Insurance shares that we've seen in the last year. That implies that an insider found the current price of US$11.44 per share to be enticing. That means they have been optimistic about the company in the past, though they may have changed their mind. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider purchases were made at close to current prices.
Happily, we note that in the last year insiders paid US$168k for 16.57k shares. On the other hand they divested 5.25k shares, for US$59k.
