Possible Signal As Ichor Holdings Insiders Sell US$2.5m In Stock

イコルホールディングスの関係者が株を250万ドル売り出す可能性の信号

Simply Wall St ·  10/01 10:34

Despite the fact that Ichor Holdings, Ltd. (NASDAQ:ICHR) stock rose 17% last week, insiders who sold US$2.5m worth of stock in the previous 12 months are likely to be better off. Holding on to stock would have meant their investment would be worth less now than it was at the time of sale. Thus selling at an average price of US$45.37, which is higher than the current price, may have been the best decision.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Ichor Holdings

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Chairman, Thomas Rohrs, sold US$2.3m worth of shares at a price of US$45.37 per share. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$31.81). So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it.

In the last year Ichor Holdings insiders didn't buy any company stock. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Does Ichor Holdings Boast High Insider Ownership?

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Ichor Holdings insiders own about US$15m worth of shares. That equates to 1.4% of the company. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.

So What Do The Ichor Holdings Insider Transactions Indicate?

The fact that there have been no Ichor Holdings insider transactions recently certainly doesn't bother us. Still, the insider transactions at Ichor Holdings in the last 12 months are not very heartening. The modest level of insider ownership is, at least, some comfort. So while it's helpful to know what insiders are doing in terms of buying or selling, it's also helpful to know the risks that a particular company is facing.
