Viewing insider transactions for TeraWulf Inc.'s (NASDAQ:WULF ) over the last year, we see that insiders were net sellers. This means that a larger number of shares were sold by insiders in relation to shares purchased.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At TeraWulf
In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Chief Accounting Officer & Treasurer, Kenneth Deane, sold US$227k worth of shares at a price of US$3.25 per share. That means that an insider was selling shares at slightly below the current price (US$4.40). As a general rule we consider it to be discouraging when insiders are selling below the current price, because it suggests they were happy with a lower valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. It is worth noting that this sale was only 17% of Kenneth Deane's holding. The only individual insider seller over the last year was Kenneth Deane.

Insider Ownership
For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. TeraWulf insiders own about US$251m worth of shares (which is 15% of the company). This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
So What Do The TeraWulf Insider Transactions Indicate?
The fact that there have been no TeraWulf insider transactions recently certainly doesn't bother us. While we feel good about high insider ownership of TeraWulf, we can't say the same about the selling of shares. While it's good to be aware of what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision. While conducting our analysis, we found that TeraWulf has 3 warning signs and it would be unwise to ignore these.
Of course TeraWulf may not be the best stock to buy. So you may wish to see this free collection of high quality companies.
