In a Bursa filing dated Nov 11, Texchem Resources Bhd announced that the company and its subsidiaries recently experienced a cybersecurity incident whereby some data in the servers were encrypted and access to the data was blocked.
Upon discovering the incident, Texchem isolated the network and restored the affected servers, followed by recovery plan to safeguard the servers.
The group has engaged external consultancy to investigate the incident, in order to address any potential security gap for the strengthening of its overall cybersecurity infrastructure and assisting in the recovery of data.
At present, there are no financial losses and disruption to Texchem and the group is not aware of any external leakage of data.
Texchem will continue to closely monitor the situation and will provide further updates should there be any material development relating to the incident.
