U.S. markets closed down Tuesday afternoon with the S&P 500 ending its four-day win streak.
At 4:01 p.m. ET, the three indices closed down. The $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ was off 382 points (0.90%) to close at 43,910. The $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ closed down 0.29% and the $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$ was off 0.09%.
With the stock market turning south, the bond market painted a different picture. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note moved up to 4.430% Tuesday, increasing from Friday's 4.307%. The yield's rise reflects increasing concerns about inflation under the Trump administration.
A temperature on inflation can be seen on Wednesday with the release of the CPI.
After the market close, $CAVA Group (CAVA.US)$ and $Maplebear (CART.US)$ release earnings.
