Markets Close Higher, Ends With Weekly Gains

Friday's markets closed higher, with the three indices hitting weekly gains.

At 4:01 p.m. ET, the $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ closed  up 426 points (0.97%). The$S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ was 0.35% higher and $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$ closed up 0.06%. For the week, the three indices each added at least 1.6%

Bitcoin hovered near $100,000 but didn't hit the milestone this week. Soon.

On Friday, the University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment survey showed consumer confidence rose in Republican households after the election.  

The Supreme Court has decided it will allow a multibillion-dollar class-action investors’ lawsuit to proceed against Facebook parent Meta. This comes from a privacy scandal that includes Cambridge Analytica.

Meta closed down 0.70%.

And for those driving over the Thanksgiving holiday, good news: gasoline prices are at their lowest since 2021. But there’s a 75% increase in the number of expected travelers hitting the roads as compared to last year.
