The Maextro S800 sedan is available in EREV and BEV variants, with four- and five-seat options, as well as dual- and triple-motor options.
Chinese tech giant Huawei gave the S800, the first model of Maextro, the new automotive brand it created in conjunction with Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), a brief appearance at the end of last month, without releasing much information.
Now, a regulatory filing has brought to light the core specifications of the Maextro S800 sedan.
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the latest batch of models that will be allowed to be sold in its catalog for public comment today, and the Maextro S800 is included.
The public can submit their feedback between December 10-16. Entry into the catalog is the last major regulatory process by which a model can be allowed to be sold in China.
There are four versions of the Maextro S800 on the catalog, with production at JAC's factory in Hefei, Anhui province, where the automaker is headquartered.
Two of the models are extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) models -- HFC7150DREEV1 and HFC7150DREEV2. The other two models are battery electric vehicle (BEV) models -- HFC7000DEV1, HFC7000DEV2.
Its EREV and BEV variants have the same dimensions of 5,480 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width and 1,536 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3,370 mm. Both variants are available in 4-seat and 5-seat versions.
The Maextro S800 EREV is available in two weight options of 2,731 kg and 2,859 kg and supports a top speed of 200 km/h.
The Maextro S800 BEV is available in two weight options, 2,604 kg and 2,731 kg, and supports a top speed of 210 km/h.
Both the EREV and BEV variants of the model have a dual-motor version and a tri-motor version each.
The dual-motor version has a peak power of 160 kW for the front motor and 230 kW for the rear motor.
The tri-motor version has a front motor with 160 kW peak power and two rear motors each with 237.5 kW peak power.
The model is powered by lithium nickel-cobalt manganese-acid batteries from CATL, the capacity of which is currently unknown.
Huawei unveiled the Maextro S800 at a product launch event on November 26 and began accepting pre-orders, targeting the luxury executive sedan market.
The model is expected to sell for between RMB 1 million ($137,670) and RMB 1.5 million, and those interested can pay an intentional deposit of RMB 20,000 to reserve it, Huawei said at the time.
Maextro is the fourth new brand Huawei created with a local carmaker, and the most highly positioned under Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) umbrella.
The other three brands under the HIMA business are Stelato, which Huawei co-built with BAIC Group, Aito, which it co-built with Seres Group, and Luxeed, which it co-built with Chery.
