The School of Engineering and Technology at Sunway University has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with five global industry leaders—Daikin Malaysia, Hartalega NGC, Jingxing Holdings, Keysight Technologies, and Mercedes-Benz Malaysia—to enhance collaboration between academia and industry.
The agreements aim to promote cutting-edge research, skill development, student employability, and technology integration in education.
President of Sunway University Prof Sibrandes Poppema highlighted the significance of these partnerships: "By bridging the gap between academia and the professional world, we not only ensure our students are well-prepared for future challenges but also contribute to advancing research and innovation."
Key industry leaders shared their commitment to these initiatives:
- Lim Han Sing, Vice President at Keysight Technologies, stated, "This partnership ensures students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the rapidly evolving technology landscape."
- Lawrence Song Yew Beng, Managing Director of DMSS, emphasised collaboration in green HVAC technologies to drive energy efficiency.
- Gan Ken Wei, Head of Mercedes-Benz Tech Malaysia, remarked, "Collaboration between industry and academia has become more essential than ever in advancing automotive technology."
- Yoon Siew Fei, Chief HR Officer of Hartalega, expressed the company's focus on nurturing the next generation of engineering and IT talent.
