Insiders were net sellers of Rumble Inc.'s (NASDAQ:RUM ) stock during the past year. That is, insiders sold more stock than they bought.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.
Rumble Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Lead Independent Director, Robert Arsov, sold US$711k worth of shares at a price of US$7.02 per share. That means that an insider was selling shares at slightly below the current price (US$8.64). When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. However, while insider selling is sometimes discouraging, it's only a weak signal. This single sale was just 0.7% of Robert Arsov's stake. Robert Arsov was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.
Robert Arsov sold a total of 1.00m shares over the year at an average price of US$6.07. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. If you click on the chart, you can see all the individual transactions, including the share price, individual, and the date!

Rumble Insiders Are Selling The Stock
The last quarter saw substantial insider selling of Rumble shares. Specifically, Lead Independent Director Robert Arsov ditched US$1.5m worth of shares in that time, and we didn't record any purchases whatsoever. In light of this it's hard to argue that all the insiders think that the shares are a bargain.
Insider Ownership
Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. Rumble insiders own 69% of the company, currently worth about US$1.6b based on the recent share price. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
