Euro IG Credit Spreads May Tighten as US Tapering Fears Ease -- Market Talk

Dow Jones Newswires ·  2021/08/12 06:09

1009 GMT - Euro investment-grade corporate bond spreads could unwind some of their recent widening on the back of easing tapering fears in the U.S., says Commerzbank. "While U.S. tapering fears still linger, yesterday's US Consumer Price Index print failed to see them flare up," says credit strategist Cem Keltek, as the reading came in within expectations. Easing concerns over an immediate bond taper in the U.S. could unwind the gradual 3.5 basis-point widening in euro IG corporate bonds since last Friday. Keltek expects spreads to trade in small ranges. (lorena.ruibal@wsj.com)
