Chinese Stocks End Mixed; Property Sector Broadly Weaken -- Market Talk

Dow Jones Newswires ·  2021/11/12 02:32

0729 GMT - Chinese stocks finished mixed as losses by the property sector offset gains among industrial shares. Despite signs of potential policy easing for developers, confidence among home buyers and financial institutions still appears weak and it will take time to be rebuilt, Ping An Securities says. China Vanke fell 5.0%, Seazen Holdings lost 2.4% and Greenland Holdings shed 3.2%. The industrial sector extended a recent uptrend amid a bright medium-term growth outlook. Notable laggards included SMIC, which lost 3.9% after a shakeup at the chip maker's executive level with the departure of its vice chairman. The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.2% to 3539.10, the Shenzhen Composite Index was 0.4% higher and the ChiNext Price Index dropped 0.1%.(clarence.leong@wsj.com)
