Reuters ·  Jul 2 10:12

Tesla produced approximately 411,000 vehicles and delivered around 444,000 vehicles in Q2, leading to a surge in stock prices after the delivery release. The firm delivered 466,000 in the same period last year.

Tesla produced 386,576 Model 3/Y vehicles during the quarter and delivered 422,405. The company produced and delivered 24,255 and 21,551, respectively, of all other models in Q2.

The company said it deployed 9.4 GWh of energy storage products, its highest quarterly deployment to date.

Some investors were anticipating a drop in deliveries. According to Benzinga, Future Fund Managing Partner Gary Black thought we would see 420,000 units, which would mark a 10% year-over-year drop. The fund manager said that the company-compiled consensus was 437,800 units, and the consensus estimate compiled by Bloomberg was 439,300.
