$Cisco (CSCO.US)$ reported earnings and sales that beat analyst estimates Wednesday, but the stock reacted with mixed trades after hours after sales came in lower by 5.6% than in the same period last year.

The firm's quarterly earnings came in at $0.91/share, beating the analyst consensus estimate of $0.87. The company reported quarterly sales of $13.841 billion, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $13.771 billion.

“Cisco is off to a strong start to fiscal 2025,” Chief Chuck Robbins said. “Our customers are investing in critical infrastructure to prepare for AI, and with the breadth of our portfolio, we are uniquely positioned to capitalize on this opportunity.”

The firm said product orders were up 20% yearly and 9% year over year, excluding its recently purchased Splunk subsidiary. It was the firm's first quarter of 2025, and looking forward  to the next quarter, Cisco sees revenue of $13.75 billion to $13.95 billion, and GAAP EPS of $0.51 to $0.56; Non-GAAP: $0.89 to $0.91.

For the full year 2025, the firm sees revenue of $55.3 billion to $56.3 billion, and EPS of $2.26 to $2.38.

“Revenue, gross margin, and EPS in Q1 were at the high end or above our guidance range, generating strong operating leverage” Scott Herren, CFO of Cisco, said. “We are focused on solid execution and operating discipline while making strategic investments to drive innovation and growth.”
