[TechWeb] May 14th news, with the vigorous development of domestic 5G network, the continuous improvement of 5G traffic has become an important goal of 5G construction and operation of operators. Recently, ZTE Corporation and Henan Luoyang Unicom completed AAPC (adaptive antenna weight) tide optimization in two scenes of business district complex (commercial + residential + office building) and science and technology park (business complex + residential). Through wave time weight optimization, 5G network covers business circle and office area during the day and residential area at night, realizing 5G network with industry movement and fully improving the comprehensive utilization rate of 5G site. Improve the shunting ratio of 5G network to maximize the number of 5G services and users.

In daily life, there are many scenes with tidal characteristics, that is, the location of users has regular migration at a specific time, such as schools, commercial and residential residential areas, government units, office buildings and other places. Users' locations move and gather regularly according to different times, and conventional antenna coverage schemes can not meet the network coverage with variable requirements. In the 5G network, the antenna supports a large number of directional controllable antenna elements at the transmitter and receiver, and a large number of antenna elements can be used for beamforming. The so-called beamforming means that the transmission direction of each beam can be controlled by adjusting the phase array so as to expand the coverage. In view of the characteristics of this kind of tidal scenarios, ZTE Corporation AAPC proposes a solution of weight values in different periods. The weight parameters can be configured in different periods according to the position changes of the actual users to maximize the coverage gain.

In the application of AAPC tide effect, ZTE Corporation and Luoyang Unicom start from the direction of business complex, residential and business complex, and select two scenarios of business complex (commercial + residential + office building) and science and technology park (business complex + residential) to optimize the tide of AAPC. According to the situation of the site survey, the tidal time period is set.

After enabling AAPC tide scene optimization, the 5G traffic of the two application scenarios has been improved. For the science and technology park, the daily average 5G traffic increased from 229.53GB to 282.90GB and 5G traffic diversion ratio increased from 47.47% to 53.36%. For the business complex, the daily average 5G traffic increased from 355.68GB to 420.09GB and 5G traffic diversion ratio increased from 31.45% to 35.65%.
