Wuhan, September 4, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently, the first “digital twin smart hospital” in Hubei Province — the Yangchunhu Campus of Wuhan Central Hospital (hereinafter referred to as “Wuhan Central Hospital”) was fully opened. HONEYWELL(NASDAQ code:HON)The Intelligent Building Technology Group provides comprehensive intelligent solutions for Wuhan Central Hospital, helps it build a new generation of advanced smart hospitals in China, supports hospitals to achieve green, low-carbon and intelligent fine management goals, and provides patients with a safer, more efficient and comfortable medical environment and services.

Honeywell helps Yangchunhu Campus of Wuhan Central Hospital build a “digital twin smart hospital”

The Yangchunhu Campus of Wuhan Central Hospital is located in Hongshan District, with a total construction area of about 230,000 square meters and 1,000 open beds. It is one of the public health emergency management system infrastructure construction projects and integrated emergency treatment base construction projects in Wuhan. The new hospital is positioned to build a high-level smart hospital, deeply integrate technologies such as big data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and digital twins, innovate in science and technology, and take the lead in exploring a new smart management model for all scenarios.

The smart hospital solutions provided by Honeywell to Wuhan Central Hospital cover various systems such as the Internet of Things, medical assistance, building automation, security, energy metering, medical intercom, and triage calling. The digitally intelligent operation management center built by Honeywell for the hospital is the “smart center” for hospital operations. It enables the collection of all IoT data throughout the hospital, including the building environment, facilities, equipment, and medical treatment data. Through digital twin technology, the physical space is “moved” to the digital space to form a digital twin hospital.

With the help of this management system, staff at the command center can grasp the hospital's operation dynamics, thus achieving “one-screen control of the hospital and one-click command of the entire process”, including centralized intelligent supervision, management, and control of hospital facilities and equipment to achieve application scenarios such as digital security, digital energy, digital services, smart prevention and control, smart medical care, and smart logistics. At the same time, the system collects and finely controls the hospital's energy consumption data such as water, electricity, cooling and heat sources in real time to help achieve green and energy-saving management goals.

“Intelligent hospital management is of great significance to improving the hospital's overall management efficiency, diagnosis and treatment capacity, and service level. The early design of the Yangchunhu Campus of Wuhan Central Hospital was characterized by being green, low-carbon, and intelligent. It strengthened top-level planning for new digital infrastructure, took the lead in replacing traditional network deployment with full fiber throughout the hospital, created a full-scenario application of the Internet of Things, consolidated the data cornerstone of digitally intelligent operation management, and realized a data-driven refined management model through a digitally intelligent operation management center.” Yang Guoliang, deputy director of Wuhan Central Hospital, said, “The digital transformation of hospitals requires high-level top-level design and excellent ecological partners. We are willing to work with everyone, supported by a digital intelligent operation management platform, to use its strong interactivity, flexibility and stability to improve hospital operation efficiency, create a convenient and efficient hierarchical diagnosis and treatment environment for medical care and patients, and meet current and future sustainable development needs.”

“We are very happy to cooperate with Wuhan Central Hospital to help build a new generation of advanced digital twin smart hospitals in China through mature Honeywell smart hospital solutions, and jointly lead the healthcare industry towards a smart, energy-efficient, safe and efficient future.” Chen Yan, vice president of Honeywell Intelligent Building Technology Group and general manager of Greater China, said, “As a professional service provider in the field of smart buildings, Honeywell is committed to providing full-life cycle solutions from planning, design, manufacturing to operation, fully meeting the needs of hospital owners for modern hospital informatization management, enhancing the smart operation and maintenance of hospitals through innovative technology, and helping to ensure the safety and comfort of patients.”

Honeywell Intelligent Building Technology Group has been deeply involved in the medical construction field for more than 30 years and has provided products and services to more than 1,000 hospitals in China. The Yangchunhu Campus of Wuhan Central Hospital is Honeywell's first smart hospital in China to implement a digital twin and digitally intelligent operation platform. Using this as an opportunity, Honeywell will continue to explore, integrate and innovate to help improve the level of intelligent management in public hospitals.
