DBS Group Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the CEO & Executive Director, Piyush Gupta, for S$3.4m worth of shares, at about S$34.32 per share. So we know that an insider sold shares at around the present share price of S$31.82. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. We note that this sale took place at around the current price, so it isn't a major concern, though it's hardly a good sign. Piyush Gupta was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.

Insider Ownership

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. DBS Group Holdings insiders own 0.4% of the company, currently worth about S$325m based on the recent share price. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
