In the last year, many FormFactor, Inc. (NASDAQ:FORM) insiders sold a substantial stake in the company which may have sparked shareholders' attention. Knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more helpful when evaluating insider transactions, as insider selling can have various explanations. However, when multiple insiders sell stock over a specific duration, shareholders should take notice as that could possibly be a red flag.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At FormFactor

In fact, the recent sale by Chief Financial Officer Shai Shahar was not their only sale of FormFactor shares this year. They previously made an even bigger sale of -US$887k worth of shares at a price of US$37.53 per share. That means that an insider was selling shares at around the current price of US$37.08. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.
