Insurance registrations for major electric vehicle (EV) makers in China fell significantly last week, as the beginning of the year and the start of the month are usually low for car deliveries.
For the week of January 1-7, BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDF) sold 44,700 units and was the top seller of NEVs (NEVs) in China, according to rankings shared today by local automotive media outlet Yiche.
Yiche's list doesn't explain the basis for calculating the weekly sales, but apparently, they are insurance registrations that CnEVPost has been monitoring.
BYD's insurance registrations last week were down 41.8 percent from the previous week's 76,800 units, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
