Spirit Aero Shares Rise as Boeing Reportedly Misinstalled Door Plug on Alaska Air Jet

Moomoo News ·  Jan 24 13:59

$Spirit Aerosystems (SPR.US)$ shares gained 6.8% after the Seattle Times reported that $Boeing (BA.US)$ mechanics reinstalled improperly the fuselage on the $Alaska Air (ALK.US)$ jet before it blew off the aircraft earlier this month.

The door plug was removed for repair then reinstalled improperly by Boeing mechanics, the newspaper reported, citing a person familiar with the matter. That could mean Spirit Aerosystems wasn't at fault and Boeing could be held solely responsible for the incident if the information is verified by the National Safety Board investigation, according to the report.
