Malaysian Shares Close in Green Zone; Compugates' Shares Soar 50%

Malaysian shares ended in the green territory on Thursday, extending yesterday's gains. The investor sentiment remained upbeat, mirroring regional sentiment.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, the main gauge of Malaysian stocks, added 4.34 points to end 0.28% higher at 1,544.76 at the close. The day ranged between 1,538.68 and 1,548.46.

In other news, The Malaysia External Trade Development (Matrade) is set to launch the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (Mihas) in Dubai this year.

The event, subbed "Globalising halal innovations", will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center and then at the Dubai World Trade Center from Nov. 18 to Nov. 20.

Feytech Holdings inked an underwriting deal with TA Securities and AmInvestment Bank for the company's initial public offering (IPO) on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia. The automotive cover and seat manufacturer will issue 143.32 million new shares and 109.62 million existing shares.

In corporate news, shares of electronic products trader and renewable energy solutions provider Compugates Holdings (KLSE:COMPUGT) surged 50% and those of the industrial mold manufacturer MQ Technology (KLSE:MQTECH) soared over 33% on Thursday's close.
