$Ethereum (ETH.CC)$ and select crypto-miner stocks rallied Tuesday for a second day as markets continued to express hope that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission will soon approve Ether spot ETFs.
ETH gained 12.5% to $3,793.18 shortly before 1 p.m. ET, adding to a 13% rally Monday as Bloomberg cited unnamed sources as saying the SEC could soon OK Ethereum ETFs. That would presumably make it easier for investors to buy the crypto, theoretically bringing in new money to ETH and boosting its price.
$Bitcoin (BTC.CC)$ rose 0.3% to $69,830.53 shortly before 1 p.m. ET, apparently in sympathy with Ethereum’s rally.
Select crypto-mining stocks also rose as of shortly before 1 p.m. ET, including:
-- $Iris Energy (IREN.US)$, up 14.5% to $7.30
-- $Bit Origin (BTOG.US)$, ahead 9.5% at $3.68
-- $BitFuFu (FUFU.US)$, gaining 7.2% to $3.65
