Zhitong Finance learned that Apple (AAPL.US) will open its first retail store in Malaysia in June in an effort to enhance its influence in Southeast Asia. Apple said the Apple store will open on June 22 at The Exchange TRX shopping center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The company has already opened retail stores in India, Singapore, and Thailand.

Last month, Apple CEO Tim Cook visited Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore. The visit may be aimed at strengthening its supply chain in Southeast Asia and seizing the growing Southeast Asian market. According to reports, Apple began producing some iMac computers in Malaysia about two years ago. At the same time, the company also makes some iPhones in India and AirPods in Vietnam.
