Some Coastal Financial Corporation (NASDAQ:CCB) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Executive VP, Joel Edwards, recently sold a substantial US$540k worth of stock at a price of US$43.50 per share. That sale reduced their total holding by 29% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

Coastal Financial Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the CEO & Director, Eric Sprink, sold US$904k worth of shares at a price of US$45.20 per share. So we know that an insider sold shares at around the present share price of US$43.66. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.
