Have Plexus Insiders Been Selling Stock?

Some Plexus Corp. (NASDAQ:PLXS) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the CEO & Director, Todd Kelsey, recently sold a substantial US$1.2m worth of stock at a price of US$110 per share. However, that sale only accounted for 9.8% of their holding, so arguably it doesn't say much about their conviction.

Plexus Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent sale by Todd Kelsey is the biggest insider sale of Plexus shares that we've seen in the last year. So we know that an insider sold shares at around the present share price of US$110. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.

In the last year Plexus insiders didn't buy any company stock. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Insider Ownership

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Plexus insiders own about US$62m worth of shares. That equates to 2.1% of the company. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
