On June 13th, during the SNEC PV+ 17th International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy (Shanghai) Conference and Exhibition in 2024, Cui Jian, president of Xiamen Cohua Sun Energy Technology Co., Ltd., stated that global photovoltaic and energy storage equipment new installations would maintain high growth in 2024, but still face significant pressure. The photovoltaic and storage industry is encountering the strongest internal competition ever, and the competition is intense. Only by breaking through core technology can the internal competition ecology be improved.

Cui Jian believes that the industry is entering a period of new qualitative productivity, and the window period of revolutionary breakthroughs in photovoltaic energy storage technology has arrived. However, the power system is a highly complex and critical infrastructure, and existing norms and standards are still insufficient to cover all nodes, and these innovations also face uncertainty. Despite the rapid evolution of technology, its underlying logic is around the development trends of high reliability, high capacity, high security and long service life.

In his view, the photovoltaic energy storage industry is continuously reshaping a new pattern during the changes, and should follow the initial heart of long-termism. Instead of relying on prices to win sales in the internal market, it is better to use innovative technology products to achieve sustainable development and meet downstream application demands.
