Market Mover | Tesla Shares Surge 6% After Elon Musk Says his Pay Package is Passing by "Wide Margins”

June 13, 2024 - $Tesla (TSLA.US)$shares surged 6.89% to $189.50 in pre-market trading on Thursday.  

On Wednesday evening, Elon Musk posted on X platform that his compensation plan and relocating Tesla's incorporation from Delaware to Texas were passing by wide margins.

The Delaware Chancery Court nullified Elon Musk's $56 billion compensation package in January, leaving him without pay for six years. Despite this, Tesla is allowing stockholders to ratify Musk's 2018 pay package at the annual meeting on June 13. Tesla board chair Robyn Denholm urged shareholders to approve Elon Musk's $56 billion pay package to prevent him from leaving the company.
