瑞士央行再次降息 以期支持经济并抑制瑞郎涨势

Swiss National Bank cuts interest rates again in the hope of supporting the economy and curbing the rise of the Swiss franc.

Swiss National Bank cut interest rates again to ease economic constraints and curb the rise of the Swiss franc, in sharp contrast to other global central banks' hesitant approach to easing policies.

Swiss National Bank lowered its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to 1.25% on Thursday, a decision that was difficult to predict. Some investors bet the bank would cut rates, while a slight majority of economists surveyed by Bloomberg expected the central bank to keep rates unchanged.

Swiss National Bank said in a statement that "potential inflationary pressures have once again declined compared with the previous quarter."

After the interest rate decision, the Swiss franc fell, down about 0.4% against the euro and 0.5% against the US dollar. The Swiss stock market rose, with the SMI index up 0.5% at one point.
