According to the latest media reports, Alibaba Cloud launched the English version of the open source AI community ModelScope (Magic Match) at an event in Seattle, USA.
Alibaba Cloud announced the establishment of a magic building community at the 2022 Yunqi Conference. This is also the first AI model open source community in China. According to Alibaba Cloud, since its launch, Magic Match has attracted more than 5 million developers, and currently has more than 5,000 models, including the Qwen series models developed by Ali and the innovative achievements of many Chinese startups.
Alibaba Cloud said the platform also provides more than 1,500 high-quality Chinese data sets and rich data processing tools. These resources will bring unique value to global developers.
Language barriers have always been a potential problem in the promotion of Magic Match in the international market, and directly providing an English version can help solve this problem and enhance the user experience for international users, especially developers.
According to reports, the launch of the English version of Magic Match not only targets the US market, but also targets Southeast Asia and other regions where English is the main business language.
In terms of cloud computing revenue share, Alibaba Cloud ranked third in some of its target Asian markets, lagging behind AWS and Azure, but sometimes surpassing Google.
Notably, Alibaba Cloud has established an extensive infrastructure network around the world, covering 89 availability zones in 30 regions, 16 of which are located outside of mainland China.
