Montrose today released its 2023 Sustainability Report, updating its progress in the field of sustainable development and sharing insights that support innovative work for global customers and communities.

The 2023 Sustainability Report highlights the key elements of Montrose's long-term sustainable business efforts, including caring for employees, serving the community, positively impacting the environment, and achieving meaningful change.

  • Driving more transparency in company energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, including recalculating the baseline inventory for 2022 and using an expanded Scope 3 emissions inventory;
  • Establishing short-term targets to help the company achieve net zero and submitting them to SBTi for verification;
  • Completing strategic acquisitions, including those of Matrix Solutions, Greenpath Energy, and Vandrensning, to provide better services for the company's customers and deepen expertise in new areas;
  • Conducting a comprehensive review of talent and compensation across the company to identify future leaders, assess talent gaps, and plan for future opportunities;
  • Expanding the size of the company's dedicated cybersecurity team, establishing a generative AI policy, and implementing automated security vulnerability remediation processes to strengthen the company's cybersecurity measures; and
  • Successfully launching two new Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and continuing to invest in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and the WeLEAD mentorship program.

In addition, the company updated information on two long-term sustainable development goals:

  • Achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040; and
  • Achieving and maintaining gender-balanced workforce configurations by 2040.
