Body hug shower exhibited at “CareTex Fukuoka '24”
Proposing productivity improvements at nursing care sites through shower baths for the elderly
LIXIL Co., Ltd. (hereafter, LIXIL), which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in the domestic water/tile business, will be exhibiting a new type of shower “body hug shower” wrapped in hot water at the specialized exhibition “CareTex Fukuoka '24,” which specializes in nursing care products and equipment and services for elderly facilities to be held over 2 days on 7/3 and 4.
The body hug shower is a shower where the comfortable discharge from 10 nozzles wraps around the body and warms the whole body in a short time. Even if you have trouble bathing in the bathtub, you can warm up to the core of your body just by taking a shower. Also, since no bathtub is used, the risk of falling or drowning in the bathroom can be reduced. Bathing assistants can also eliminate the trouble and burden of bathing in the bathtub, and staff can do other work during the shower, leading to improved productivity at nursing care sites.
As for installation, it can be installed in an existing bathroom in as little as 60 minutes and can be used from the next day, so there is no need for large-scale construction or initial investment without interfering with operations※1. When using a private room, the amount of water and time to wash hot water are reduced compared to using a bathtub, so one of the attractions is that water bills can be reduced.

While aging care and lack of personnel in nursing homes are viewed as problems, LIXIL provides a variety of products and services to contribute to improving productivity at nursing care sites. The body hug shower, which is a representative product, has already been introduced to dozens of nursing homes since it went on sale in 2022, and has been well received by both residents and staff.
In addition to exhibiting at “CareTex Fukuoka '24,” we plan to exhibit at the same CareTex venue in Osaka in October, Nagoya in December, and Tokyo in February 2025.
