The S&P 500 and Nasdaq advanced, building on gains that took them to recent record highs as Apple and Amazon rallied.

Stocks are getting a boost after Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President Austan Goolsbee on Monday outlined a dovish case for interest rate cuts, citing new signs of stress on the economy that could prompt the U.S. central bank to reexamine its monetary policy.
