Marvell's New Digital Signal Processor Technology Enhances AI Data Centers

Marvell Technology, Inc (NASDAQ:MRVL), specializing in data infrastructure semiconductor solutions, has introduced the Marvell Alaska A 1.6T PAM4 digital signal process for active electrical cables.

Marvell's device is the first 1.6 Tbps AEC DSP designed to meet the growing bandwidth demands driven by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning applications.

The latest addition to the Alaska A family is built on a 5nm process and utilizes Marvell's PAM4 DSP technology to enable short-reach copper interconnect solutions for accelerated infrastructure.

According to 650 Group, the AEC silicon market is expected to grow at 64% annually, reaching $1 billion by 2028.

Alan Weckel, co-founder of 650 Group, noted, "AI is driving the need for short-reach copper connectivity at 1.6T. Marvell's introduction of its Alaska 1.6T AEC DSP continues the company's history of delivering top-tier PAM DSPs, enabling cable vendors to offer optimized interconnect solutions for different cloud AI architectures."

Analysts noted that Broadcom Inc (NASDAQ:AVGO) and Marvell lead the surging $20 billion—$30 billion custom chip (ASIC) market, which is driven by the generative AI frenzy.

Price Action: MRVL shares traded higher by 1.24% at $69.10 at the last check Thursday.
