According to reports, Japanese auto manufacturers Nissan and Honda are considering using standardized automotive software and collaborating on electric vehicle charging to reduce costs.
In March of this year, Nissan and Honda said they were considering establishing strategic partnerships to produce electric vehicle components, in order to gain a greater foothold in the growing global battery-powered vehicle market in the coming years.
According to Thursday's report, the two companies are looking to jointly develop operating systems that control cars to reduce costs.
Nissan and Honda may also work together to strengthen charging infrastructure to improve their competitiveness in the electric vehicle field.
As part of the potential partnership, they are considering cooperation in six areas.
