1. Financial Summary for the Fiscal Year Ending March 31, 2024

As for the fiscal year ending 2024/3 of Tsukuba Seiko <6596>, sales increased 49.3% from the previous fiscal year to 326 million yen, operating loss was 6 million yen (loss of 82 million yen in the previous fiscal year), ordinary loss was 7 million yen (loss of 82 million yen), and net profit was 30 million yen (loss of 91 million yen).

Business losses are still recorded, but since important parts of the laser processing machine were damaged during the period and internal production activities were hindered, part of the production process was outsourced and unexpected expenses occurred, which is one of the causes of business loss. The company said, “This caused extra expenses of 10 million yen or more. If these were not there, there was a possibility that operating income close to several million yen could have been recorded.” Also, the net loss became profitable due to the fact that special profit of 59 million yen was recorded by selling demo machines with book value close to zero.

As for sales by product, only “stage” was 135 million yen (down 9.5% from the previous fiscal year), “supporter” was 102 million yen (up 48.9% from the same period), and “automatic machine” was 88 million yen (zero previous fiscal year results), so sales of the remaining “supporter” + “automatic machine” were 190 million yen for the fiscal year ending 2024/3, an increase of 178.0% compared to the previous fiscal year.

“Stage” sales declined due to the impact of capital investment in the semiconductor industry. Meanwhile, sales of automatic machines were 2 units (1 for 8 inches, 1 for 12 inches), and sales of “supporter” also increased along with this. Until now, demand for “supporter” has been mainly for testing, but since the automatic machines that have been shipped are for mass production lines, there is a high possibility that demand for “supporter” will increase further in the future. It is necessary to keep a close eye on future trends, but it can be said that the company's business has finally begun to start up in earnest.
