The representative secretary of the Macao Tourism Bureau, Hsu Yiu Ming, said that while the number of tours visiting Macau has not recovered to the level of 2019, it is growing slowly. Authorities are cracking down on illegal travel. Last year, the Bureau has arrested a total of 20 illegal tours and notified the relevant authorities in the Mainland to investigate and enforce penalties.
Hsu Yao-ming pointed out that casino adjustments to the threshold for dispensing free snacks have not affected passenger numbers for the time being. The main purpose of visitors to Australia today is not to ask for free snacks at the casino, and most of them go for community tourism. Data shows that over the last weekend, June 29 and 30, respectively, there were more than 11 million visitors to Macau.
