Optim Research Memo (8): Continuation of Growth Investment to Become a Central Company in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

■Growth Strategy and Topics

1. Medium- to long-term sales growth image

Over the past few years, Optim <3694> has achieved results in various industries by focusing on research and development and launching new services based on “Optimal Biz” and “OptiM Cloud IoT OS.” In the medium to long term, while steadily growing mobile management services (“Optimal Biz”), X-Tech services will grow significantly, and we are aiming for dramatic development in business performance. X-Tech Service has developed multiple industry-specific killer services utilizing “OptiM Cloud IoT OS” and related technologies, and agritech, digital construction, digital health, office DX, marketing DX, and video management DX are the main business areas.

2. Progress and latest examples of major X-Tech services

(1) Agritech

In the agricultural field, various elemental technologies have been developed, including “pinpoint pesticide spray/fertilization technology” using drones. “Agri-Contractor Service” is a service that utilizes hardware (drones, etc.) and software (AI/IoT analysis systems, etc.) developed so far, and there are multiple menus, such as the drone timely control service “pinpoint time spraying,” which is fully stocked. For the fiscal year ending 2025/3, we plan to strengthen operation systems for drones and pilots and actively invest in back-end systems in order to stably operate a nationwide service system with these drone utilization services. The company already has a network of 1,000 drone pilots, and they are dispatched to the site on a daily basis. Cooperation with JA organizations nationwide is also being strengthened, and expectations for this service are also growing. By developing a system that allows equipment and people (pilots, etc.) to be arranged more efficiently, full-scale expansion will be possible in the future. Incidentally, it has won first place in the market share of AI solutions in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector.

(2) Office DX

In the office DX field, the number of licenses for the contract management service “OptiM Contract” utilizing AI and the service “OptiM Electronic Book Storage,” which complies with electronic book storage laws and regulations from 2024/1, have increased drastically, and a further leap forward can be expected after the 2025/3 fiscal year. “OptiM Contract” can streamline a series of contract management tasks, such as classification/registration of contracts, search, query/notification, and user file authority management. There are high evaluations from users for improved searchability and automatic notification of due dates using AI. Note, these functions are based on a patent relating to a “contract AI analysis/management system,” which received the “Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award” at the Reiwa 3rd Kyushu Regional Invention Award. Also, with regard to “OptiM electronic book storage,” most major companies have completed support due to compliance with the Electronic Book Preservation Law from 2024/1, but there are many companies that are not compatible with it, and it is expected that it will be introduced in the future. The service will continue to be upgraded until the previous fiscal year, and there is a functional advantage, but it is planned to accelerate introduction by making marketing investments such as web advertisements and seminars in order to further raise the name recognition.

(3) Marketing DX

In the “OptiM Digital Marketing” field, the beta version of the “Saga City Official Super App,” which can complete all services in Saga City with one application, was opened to the public in 2023/4. Residents can perform various administrative procedures online without going to the government office, and information such as garbage collection dates, regional information, crime prevention and disaster prevention can be obtained, which also contributes to the digitalization and labor saving of administrative work. The application has achieved approximately 38,000 downloads in 9 months since it was provided, and recognition is spreading as a new digital administration infrastructure with an effective penetration rate of about 30% for Saga citizens. This initiative received the “Regional Award” at the “Digital Content of the Year '23/29th AMD Awards” of the Digital Media Association, and has received high praise from external organizations. The company plans to aim for horizontal expansion to local governments nationwide by utilizing its know-how in Saga City.

What these cases have in common is that the development of new areas and the addition of new functions/services is accelerating due to addition and multiplication of accumulated technology.
