On July 5, it was learned from within Sina Finance that Gu Jilin, Vice President and Co-Founder of Chabaida Group, revealed that unlike the recruitment situation in Chinese milk tea shops, there are currently about 45 grassroots employees in Chabaida's stores in South Korea, nearly 100% of whom have undergraduate degrees or above. There are 30 employees with higher education, accounting for over 60%, and four PhD students working in the stores.

"Because Chatime is one of the first new tea beverage brands to go abroad in South Korea, it is highly recognized by local international students in South Korea, and some blue-collar workers in South Korea have higher salaries than white-collar workers, so there is almost no discrimination based on education and profession, and it is common for highly educated employees to do grassroots work." Gu Jilin told Sina Finance.

"I am a graduate student studying here, originally from Chengdu, and now that I am about to graduate, I feel that joining Chatime and being able to have milk tea freedom is a very good thing. Besides, no one here thinks it's wrong for a master's degree student to join a milk tea shop." A Chatime employee in South Korea said.

It is understood that in January of this year, Chatime's first overseas store in Seoul's Gangnam District opened for trial operation, and Chatime launched nine drinks in South Korea, three of which are global exclusives and limited to South Korea. Now Chatime's menu in South Korea is close to that in China, and a local menu featuring locally sourced fruits is developed every quarter.

According to reports, as of now, Chatime has opened 8 stores in 4 cities overseas, including 4 in South Korea, 2 in Thailand, and 2 in Australia. (Yuan Mingyu)
