During the 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Beijing Kingsoft Office Software, Inc (WPS) released WPS AI 2.0, which includes WPS AI office assistant and WPS AI government version applications, and launched the self-developed government model, Kingsoft Government Office Model 1.0. CEO Zhang Qingyuan said that Kingsoft Office Software upgraded its AI strategy and officially launched WPS AI 2.0. By applying innovations to personal, business, and government versions, it aims to help users improve productivity with new office skills.
WPS AI is an artificial intelligence office assistant based on large-scale language models developed by Beijing Kingsoft Office Software, Inc. It started public testing in November 2023 and focuses on three areas: AIGC (content creation), Copilot (intelligent assistant), and Insight (knowledge insight). At this conference, WPS AI demonstrated four new AI office assistants for individual users, which include AI writing assistant, AI reading assistant, AI data assistant, and AI design assistant, after its upgrade.
The AI writing assistant can provide users with immersive writing features, offer intelligent suggestions based on the content users input, and follow up by assisting with “stuck sentences”. It can also provide full-text polishing functions incorporating revision processes, not only helping users correct document errors but also allowing them to clearly see which sentences have been modified, enhancing their sense of control and trust in AI, and building a new generation of single-person and AI collaborative workflows.
WPS AI reading assistant optimized the question-and-answer model for document analysis, summary, and question-and-answer effects. For example, when reading an academic article in PDF format, AI can summarize key information, abstracts, and the content of the main text in the window, as well as research conclusions, research methods, and other information.
The AI data assistant can perform AI calculations, analyses, and classifications of massive volumes of data in a table, and AI can convert and write corresponding codes based on natural language requests from users, and execute them in a table.
The AI design assistant can quickly complete tasks such as formatting, design styles, and image processing. For example, it can automatically adjust the position of text and images to help completely avoid tedious formatting settings. One click can complete document formatting and make every document clear and standardized.
For enterprise organization users, Beijing Kingsoft Office Software, Inc also launched WPS AI enterprise version, which consists of three core components: AI Hub (smart base), AI Docs (smart document library), and Copilot Pro (enterprise intelligent assistant). WPS AI enterprise version can upgrade traditional enterprise documents to intelligent document libraries, and conduct intelligent Q&A and creation which can then be integrated into the business systems of enterprise users, thereby aiding departments such as after-sales and customer service. For example, a customer of an insurance company currently served by Kingsoft Office Software unified their enterprise documents in the cloud and upgraded them to an intelligent document library with one click after accessing the WPS AI enterprise version. Through AI combined with customer issues, product information, policy documents, and speech templates, it can generate suggested speech in the form of intelligent Q&A and greatly improve the service speed and quality of business personnel.
It is worth mentioning that the intelligent document library constructed by WPS AI will inherit the document permissions of the enterprise during the Q&A process, and AI will not overstep enterprise document data, which strictly guarantees enterprise data security.
