The Xpeng P7+ will be over 5 meters long and will be the first Xpeng model to use a pure vision smart driving solution similar to Tesla's.

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has named its much-anticipated new model, internally codenamed F57, the Xpeng P7+ and released the first official images, after an exclusive rendering shared by CnEVPost yesterday went viral on Chinese social media platforms.

Xpeng's all-new model has been widely discussed over the past two days, and there are three points of information that can be revealed so far, "Point 1: P7+; Point 2: 5m+; and Point 3: Technology+," He Xiaopeng, the electric vehicle (EV) maker's chairman and CEO, wrote on Weibo today.

"Recently I've been preparing for the optimization of the details of the Xpeng Mona M03 as well as all aspects of mass production and delivery," Mr. He said.

Mr. He didn't mention it directly, though the model is apparently Xpeng's new model internally codenamed F57. He shared three images of the model on Weibo, the first time Xpeng has released official images of it.

Early yesterday morning, CnEVPost exclusively obtained a rendering of the F57 and learned that the model will not be using any LiDAR, with the smart driving system shifting to a pure vision solution similar to Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA).

The report was noticed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk who replied "..." on the X platform he owns.

The information released by Mr. He today means that the Xpeng P7+ will be over 5 meters long, larger than the P7i currently on sale, which has a length, width and height of 4,888 mm, 1,896 mm and 1,450 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,998 mm.

Bigger size usually means higher price. The Xpeng P7i currently starts at RMB 223,900 ($30,780) in China.

The P7+ will be the culmination of Xpeng's most advanced technology in 10 years, with the goal of ushering in a new era of intelligence for the next decade, a spokesperson told CnEVPost today

($1 = RMB 7.2754)
