The company has had bases for over 100 years and has created various products and services in this historic location, and will continue to contribute to the realization of a rich and sustainable society.

Nikon Corporation will relocate its headquarters to Nishi-Oi, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo from Konan, Minato-ku, Tokyo and begin operations on July 29, 2024. The location has been home to the company's bases for over 100 years and has created various products and services there. Nikon will continue to contribute to the realization of a rich and sustainable society.

Main Features of Headquarters/Innovation Center

Creating synergy through integrated functions. By consolidating the corporate department, planning department of each business unit, and advanced R&D related departments, we aim to strengthen development capabilities and create business synergy, and strive for sustainable growth. We bring together each business's lab on one floor, and provide ample space on each floor to create communication and foster lively exchanges across departments.

We have designed the building to accommodate a variety of work styles. With the Activity Based Working (ABW) concept in mind, we enable employees to autonomously choose their place of work for the highest work performance, including locations such as the grand staircase, dining areas, and outdoor terrace outside their desks, promoting diversity in work styles.

We have achieved an environmentally conscious office building. By adopting an exterior design with excellent solar shading effects, we can suppress the energy consumed for air conditioning and introduce natural light and ventilation functions into the interior. We have obtained the highest rank of six stars in both the "ZEB Ready*1" certification and the Building Energy Efficiency Labeling System (BELS*2) for architectural energy performance ratings, along with significant overall energy savings achieved through the introduction of a variable air volume system tailored to the office's operational conditions. Combining energy reduction with energy creation through photovoltaic technology, we have achieved an environmentally conscious office building. * 1 ZEB Ready: Net Zero Energy Building Ready. A building that realizes a comfortable indoor environment while achieving a reduction of 50% or more in energy consumption compared to traditional buildings through energy conservation. 2 BELS: Building-Housing Energy-efficiency Labeling System. A system in which third-party organizations evaluate and certify the energy-saving performance of buildings, and it is evaluated in six stages by the number of stars.
