According to the investor relations activity record of Muyuan Foods (002714.SZ) released on July 11th, in the first half of 2024, the company slaughtered a total of 5.41 million pigs, with a slaughter capacity of 29 million pigs/year and a capacity utilization rate of around 37%, which is basically the same as the same period last year. The slaughtering sector did not achieve profitability in the first half of the year, mainly due to the fact that the slaughter volume and capacity utilization rate did not reach the ideal level and were affected by downstream market demand. The next step for the animal slaughter meat sector will continue to develop markets and sales channels, optimize product structure, improve capacity utilization, and at the same time strengthen internal operation management, continuously improve operational efficiency, and further enhance the profitability of the animal slaughter meat business.
