Gelonghui, July 12 | CIMC Group (000039.SZ) announced its 2024 semi-annual results forecast. According to preliminary estimates by the finance department, it is expected to achieve net profit profit of 0.7 billion yuan to 0.95 billion yuan in the 2024 semi-annual year, up 76% to 138% over the same period last year; net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company and other equity holders after deducting non-recurring profit and loss is 0.57 billion yuan - 0.85 billion yuan, compared with the same period last year It decreased by 42% to 13%; basic earnings per share were 0.12 yuan/share to 0.17 yuan/share.

The Group's net profit attributable to shareholders and other equity holders of the parent company from January to June 2024 is expected to rise from the same period last year, mainly due to the impact of multiple factors such as better demand for container transportation in the first half of the year due to the cyclical recovery of the industry and the lengthening travel distance of the Red Sea incident. Sales of standard dry containers in the Group's container manufacturing business rose sharply year on year, and the business revenue and net profit of this segment increased compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the Group's foreign exchange hedging strategy for the first half of 2024 was more flexible than in the same period of 2023. Combining exchange rate fluctuations, the active and flexible adjustment strategy reduced hedging costs, effectively protecting the Group's manufacturing profits. Furthermore, the Group's net profit from January to June 2024, which is attributable to shareholders and other equity holders of the parent company, declined in the same direction as the same period last year, mainly due to high non-recurring profit and loss losses in the same period last year, mainly due to losses from foreign-related derivatives investment activities. The results of foreign-related derivatives investment activities improved significantly in the first half of this year.
