Takuma <6013> announced on the 12th that it has won a contract for the essential equipment improvement project of the Shin-Koto Cleaning Plant (Koto-ku, Tokyo), from the Tokyo 23 Wards Cleaning Part Union. Through a large-scale renewal of plant facilities, it will achieve a long service life of waste treatment facilities and reduce CO2 emissions from the facility by over 6% compared to the current situation. The contract amount is 25 billion yen (excluding tax).

The Shin-Koto Cleaning Plant is Japan's largest waste treatment facility, completed in September 1998. Since more than 25 years have passed since its operation, this essential improvement project will perform tasks such as partial updates of the incinerator (drying stoker) and dust collection equipment, which are difficult to perform during regular inspections, and plan to continue stable operation for about 10 years after completion. In addition, by partially updating the steam turbine to improve power generation efficiency and reducing the facility's power consumption, it is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by over 6% compared to the current situation.
