Metaverse (01616.HK) announced that over the past few months, the Board of Directors has been actively searching and contacting potential candidates with appropriate professional knowledge who meet the company's diversified policy to fill the vacancy of independent non-executive director. However, the Board of Directors and the Nomination Committee need additional time to complete the selection and nomination process, including (but not limited to) (i) conducting background checks; (ii) arranging further interviews with potential candidates to assess their suitability, experience, skills, qualifications and independence; and (iii) negotiating the terms of the letter of appointment with potential candidates.
Therefore, the company has applied to the stock exchange for exemption from strict compliance with Rule 3.10(1) and 3.21 of the Listing Rules, to extend the deadline for compliance with Rule 3.10(1) and 3.21 of the Listing Rules from July 18, 2024 to October 17, 2024.
