Yotta Micro (688515.SH) recently stated during a reception with institutional investors that its automotive products are currently supplied to Tier One and some automakers. The validation process for automotive chips mainly includes two aspects: testing and certification, and compliance with standards. The testing and certification process involves necessary links from the design, manufacture, encapsulation, and system-level application of automotive chips and is a mandatory requirement or key audit measure for chip application in the future.

This process is mainly carried out in two aspects: one is the requirements for the quality of automotive chip products, including testing of dimensions such as reliability, information security, functional safety, and key performance indicators to verify the technical reliability and safety of automotive chip products themselves; the other is to review and certify the management process system of chip design and production links and to audit supplier qualifications, quality systems, cost & service, technical capabilities, and other aspects. The implementation is carried out by independent third-party testing and certification institutions with CNAS and CMA qualifications and is supervised and managed by superior national departments. The standards followed by certification mainly include reliability (AEC-Q series) standards and functional safety standards. The AEC-Q series standards, such as AEC-Q100, AEC-Q101, and AEC-Q104, respectively define the testing methods and environmental working temperature grades for integrated circuits, discrete devices, and multi-chip components. The functional safety standard ISO26262-2018 focuses on the safety requirements and failure analysis audit of hardware. In addition, the quality system committee of the automotive regulatory level has been separated from AEC and has become ISO/TS/IATF16949, which includes important five tools: measurement system analysis (MSA), production part approval process (PPAP), statistical process control analysis (SPC), product quality advanced planning (APQP), and potential failure mode analysis (FMEA). These tools and methods together constitute the key elements of the verification process of vehicle-mounted chips, ensuring that the quality and safety performance of automotive chips meet the industry standard requirements.
