The European Central Bank kept its three key interest rates unchanged, as expected; In the week ending July 13, the number of initial unemployment claims in the United States reached 0.243 million, the highest since the week of June 8.

The three major US stock index futures rose and fell unevenly: Nasdaq futures rose 0.67%, S&P 500 index futures rose 0.28%, and Dow Jones futures fell 0.14%.

Taiwan Semiconductor's Q2 revenue was 673.51 billion new Taiwanese dollars, a year-on-year increase of 40.1%; net profit was 247.85 billion new Taiwanese dollars, a year-on-year increase of 36.3%, higher than the market's expected 235 billion New Taiwan dollars.

Novartis's Q2 net sales were $12.512 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9%; net profit was $3.246 billion, a year-on-year increase of 43%.

United Airlines' Q2 revenue was $14.99 billion, a year-on-year increase of nearly 10%, the market expected $15.14 billion; adjusted earnings per share were $4.14, and the market expected $3.93.

Nokia's Q2 net sales were 4.47 billion euros, estimated to be 4.76 billion euros; adjusted operating profit was 0.423 billion euros, estimated to be 0.3719 billion euros.

US Aluminum's Q2 sales were $2.91 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%, market expectations were $2.84 billion; adjusted earnings per share were $0.16, a loss of $0.35 in the same period last year.
