瑞银:最新就业数据支持澳大利亚联储在下个月加息

UBS Group: Latest employment data supports the Reserve Bank of Australia's rate hike next month.

環球市場播報 ·  Jul 18 20:17

The Australian employment data in June has reinforced UBS Group's view that the Reserve Bank of Australia will raise interest rates by 25 basis points next month, which differs from the views of some other institutions. The number of new jobs added in Australia in June was 50,200, with the majority being full-time positions. UBS believes this data is stronger than the Reserve Bank of Australia's expectations. 'This is the final labor force survey released before the RBA's August 6 meeting, and the data dispels one of the key adverse risks we faced in our view that the RBA will raise interest rates in August,' said UBS economist George Tharenou. 'The key risk to our view is whether Australian Q2 CPI data will be lower than our forecast.' UBS expects Australia's overall Q2 CPI to rise 1.1% on a quarter-on-quarter basis and 3.9% on a year-on-year basis.'
