On the 18th, Sparks Group <8739> announced that the "Future Creation No. 3 Fund," established in October 2021, had invested in Enecoat Technologies. With this procurement funding, Enecoat Technologies will build a production and sales system, expand its business, diversify the supply chain for photovoltaic technology, provide extensive support for IoT devices, and accelerate the development of perovskite solar cell technology, which is capable of utilizing advanced new mobility applications.
Enecoat Technologies is a Kyoto University startup established in 2018 to commercialize the research achievements of Professor Atsushi Wakamiya's laboratory at the Kyoto University Institute of Chemical Research, working on the development of perovskite solar cell technology. They have a strength in lightweight thin-film solar cells for IoT and mobility applications, and have been selected for the Green Innovation Fund project of NEDO.
As of the end of June 2024, the operating asset balance of the Future Creation Fund, including No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3, was 115.6 billion yen.
