According to reports, Samsung Electronics and its largest labor union representatives in South Korea agreed to resume negotiations on Friday after the strike began last week.
Zhitong Finance APP learned that Samsung Electronics and its largest labor union representatives in South Korea agreed to resume negotiations on Friday after the strike began last week.
Last week, Samsung's union workers demanded higher wages and better benefits from the company, and the initial three-day strike turned into an indefinite strike.
The report added that Son Woo-mok, chairman of Samsung Electronics' largest union, the "Korea National Samsung Electronics Union," said in a live broadcast that the two sides plan to meet on Friday and negotiate on the schedule.
The union has about 0.03 million members, nearly 25% of the total number of employees in the company in South Korea.
Samsung said it hopes the strike issue can be resolved as soon as possible, and has proposed an unconditional resumption of dialogue.
The South Korean technology giant said the strike has not disrupted chip production.
